damn i just finished watching this and i cant say that i was trying really hard to understand what was going on in this movie but unsuccessfuly^^.Actually everything gets explained at the end but anyway,did that old man die or the time had gone backwards and so he did with it?I realized that they all existed in nine years old boy's imagination,who is actually that old man?:O
A boy couldn't choose who to go with,mum or dad cause he saw what will happen in future? so what actually happend.Whats the point of this

time going backwards is just an artistic approach, because nobody really knows what would happen when space stops expanding (and time as we know seize to exist). The movie is about taking choices in your life, and what would you do if you knew what every choice brings.
actually the whole movie is based on that shoelace salesman. thats also known as The Butterfly Effect, where one little event can cause major (and possibly catastrophic) development of a long term event. so you can see how kids life can vary just because of that dude making a deal on some bad shoelaces.
in the end we are not sure which timeline really happend, because, its up to you to make your OWN CHOICE! and thats the whole point of the movie, making choices in your life! and until you make a choice, ANYTHING is possible!
